Where Surfskate Starts to Look Like Surfing

Many surfers think turning on a surfskate

What You'll Learn

How Level II Is Built

Level II is organised into 7 modules and 39 step-by-step video lessons.

Each module focuses on one fundamental turn, starting with the bottom turn and building up to top turn variations.

You’ll first understand how the movement works, then practise it consciously on land (with and without the surfskate), before applying it in the water.

The goal is simple: develop reliable muscle memory so the movement becomes natural when you surf.

Why Practising On Land Changes Everything

Most surfers try to improve their turns only in the water.

But waves move quickly, and there’s little time to think.

Practising on land slows everything down.

You can focus on your weight distribution, rotation and timing without the pressure of the wave.

By training consciously, you build the right muscle memory before getting into the water, so when the section approaches, your body already knows what to do.

I didn’t learn surfing easily at the beginning. Most of my progress came from making mistakes and slowly understanding how it actually works.

Over time, I learned that surfing improves more when you train simple patterns, build muscle memory, and stop overthinking every move.

Surfskate became a clear way to do that. It lets you train the feeling of surfing on land, so when you’re back in the water, your body reacts naturally.

FAQ

You’ll need a surfskate. Any cruiser with loose front trucks works.

For some drills, you’ll also need a few cones.
If you don’t have cones, a water bottle or any small marker works perfectly.

Optional: sliders for some land drills (cardboard works too).

Flat, smooth ground with a bit of space. A parking lot or quiet street works well.

If you have access to a small ramp or gentle slope, you can use it to add an extra challenge and make it feel closer to riding a wave
